DENTAL VENEERS
IN PHILADELPHIA, PA
Dental veneers are wafer-thin, tooth-colored shells that are designed to cover the front of the teeth. They are made of either porcelain or resin materials and are custom-made for each individual patient.
A veneer is a thin shell of porcelain that your dentist can bond to the front of your natural teeth to cover up any imperfections, including chips, cracks, discolorations, and more. After placing veneers over your teeth, they become a permanent part of your smile and require the same care as your natural tooth enamel. You should brush and floss daily to keep your smile healthy and maintain regular visits with us for cleanings and exams.
Benefits of Dental Veneers
A porcelain veneer is a thin layer of porcelain that is placed over your natural tooth to hide discoloration, cracks, or chips. Porcelain veneers are stain-resistant and should last for years if they are cared for properly. Here are some of the benefits of choosing a porcelain veneer for your smile makeover:
- They are a great option for those with teeth that are stained or otherwise discolored.
- They can help hide any minor damage you may have on your teeth.
- They can make misshapen teeth appear straighter and more even.
Veneers can be placed on the front of the teeth that show when you smile. In addition to being an attractive solution to improve the appearance of your smile, they can correct the same cosmetic issues that tooth whitening can address. This includes tooth discolorations, gaps between teeth, small chips, or other minor imperfections of the front teeth. However, veneers are also often recommended for the purpose of hiding permanent staining that can’t be removed with a teeth whitening treatment. In some cases, they are even used as an alternative to crowns and cover the surface of the damaged tooth while leaving the tooth’s structure intact. This is typically done to help fix cracks, fractures, and small damage from decay. Unlike dental crowns, however, they are designed to be permanently bonded to the front surface of the teeth. This makes their removal very difficult without causing damage to the teeth underneath. After placement, they last for many years with normal oral hygiene. When cared for properly, they can be expected to last from five to ten years or more before needing to be replaced.
How Are Veneers Placed?
Veneers are used to correct a variety of cosmetic issues, including gaps between teeth, discoloration, crookedness, and worn-down enamel. In order to place them, your dentist will first prepare your teeth to receive them by shaving off a small amount of your tooth’s enamel surface. Then, an impression of your teeth is taken so that the veneer can be custom-made to fit your tooth perfectly. Finally, the veneer is bonded to your tooth using a specially formulated adhesive, which holds it securely in place.
Veneers are thin, custom-made shells that are designed to cover the front surface of your teeth. To learn more about veneers, contact Rittenhouse Dental Group at 255 S. 17TH ST., STE. 2807, Philadelphia 19103, or call 215-546-2311.

Would recommend!Mark Crookston2024-04-07After moving back to Philly and taking a break from dental care due to the pandemic I chose to start fresh at Rittenhouse Dental Group. I felt extremely welcomed and taken care of from the first call. My treatment began with full scaling which can be an unpleasant experience. Again, from scheduling to the care of the hygienist it could not have gone smoother and the results were great. My follow up cleaning visits were the same and my mouth feels healthier than ever. I also began an Invisalign treatment. I have always been self conscious about my smile and after putting off a solution for many years I was ready for a change. I’m glad I waited till I was in the hands of this group because they made the process seamless. From expectation setting, to planning and billing options. Thoughtful service the entire way. I work a 60hr per week job and also have a child and they were able to cater to specific appointment needs throughout, always in friendly way. I was told the Invisalign plan would take just under a year to achieve the results we were looking for. Along with the teams direction (and some personal discipline) the plan worked out perfectly. I couldn’t be happier with the results! Working in hospitality makes you appreciate customer service/care that much more and this group has it in every staff member. I look forward to my continued care with them and would recommend anyone looking for a similar experience to reach out to them!
