At Rittenhouse Dental Group, our dentist uses dental technology to diagnose and treat oral health issues. This includes X-rays, intraoral cameras illuminating the oral cavity, and lasers. This technology allows your dentist to quickly and accurately detect any oral problems you might have. For example, your dentist can detect decay between teeth with digital X-rays without taking multiple images. Intraoral cameras allow your dentist to see areas of damage and infection in the gums or tooth roots that are not visible to the naked eye.

Digital X-Rays

A traditional x-ray film can take several minutes to develop, and it’s not as precise as the images from a digital X-ray machine. Unlike a film, the digital version can be viewed on a computer or TV screen within seconds. Since the images are digital, they can be enhanced for better viewing and diagnosis. The dentist can also take more images, send them to another specialist, or save them to a disc for the patient to bring along to their visit.

Intraoral Cameras

An intraoral camera is a small handheld wand that can quickly and easily capture high-resolution images of your mouth. The camera is about the size of a small pen, and it’s attached to the end of a wand that resembles a TV remote. When the dentist presses the button on the wand, the camera takes a digital picture of your teeth and sends it to the computer screen in the treatment room. This innovative technology allows patients to see exactly what the dentist sees, which can help them better understand their recommended treatment plan and why they need it. Plus, the images can be saved in your file for future reference.

iTero® Scanners

The iTero scanner uses laser technology to project 3-D digital scans of your mouth into a computer model. Your dentist will use computer-generated images to plan treatment for your smile. The iTero scanner provides an accurate model of your teeth and mouth without messy impressions or gagging on the tray of impression material needed to obtain traditional molds. A digital scan also eliminates the need for additional visits, as your dentist can make adjustments to the model before finalizing the plan for your treatment. With the precision of a digital scan, your dentist can create customized treatment plans that improve the look and function of your smile. An accurate impression of your mouth reduces the need for remakes and adjustments after completing your procedure.

Dr. Huang is multilingual and both she and hyginest Lena are highly professioal and expericend. The staff member is always willing to find time slot fitting our busy schedule.   My husband and I both go to Rittenhouse Dental Group. They have been outstanding - extremely kind, accommodating to scheduling requests, detailed approach to care with particular emphasis on thoughtfulness and explaining the reasoning behind recommendations. We recently had to bring our newborn with us due to childcare constraints and they so easily adjusted to ensure we were able to get our care being mindful of his needs.   After moving back to Philly and taking a break from dental care due to the pandemic I chose to start fresh at Rittenhouse Dental Group.   I felt extremely welcomed and taken care of from the first call.  My treatment began with full scaling which can be an unpleasant experience.  Again, from scheduling to the care of the hygienist it could not have gone smoother and the results were great.  My follow up cleaning visits were the same and my mouth feels healthier than ever.   I also began an Invisalign treatment.  I have always been self conscious about my smile and after putting off a solution for many years I was ready for a change.  I’m glad I waited till I was in the hands of this group because they made the process seamless.   From expectation setting, to planning and billing options.  Thoughtful service the entire way.  I work a 60hr per week job and also have a child and they were able to cater to specific appointment needs throughout, always in friendly way.    I was told the Invisalign plan would take just under a year to achieve the results we were looking for.   Along with the teams direction (and some personal discipline) the plan worked out perfectly.  I couldn’t be happier with the results!

Working in hospitality makes you appreciate customer service/care that much more and this group has it in every staff member.   I look forward to my continued care with them and would recommend anyone looking for a similar experience to reach out to them!
